About the course
Do you want to move? Do you want to meet new people? Are you bored of the same thing? Then salsa lessons are just for you! Salsa is a mix of African and Latin American rhythms combined with other styles. It has a cheerful catchy music with nice rhythm and positive energy. It has become one of the most popular social Latin dances..
Learn to dance salsa from the beginning to the most advanced level. If you are enrolling in a couple's dance course and do not have a dance partner, we will try to find a partner for you among the course participants. We also try to provide helpers for our tutor to pair individuals. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that you will have a dance partner at all times, for the entire dance lesson. With our method of teaching you will dance with everyone and this will make it easier to learn the dance and get to know others. It will also help you to create groups of friends to go out and dance salsa together.
- Timba styling in partner work only from intermediate or advanced. Timba Styling with Rafael - this course is suitable for couples and singles for intermediate and advanced.
- Line salsa, also known as L.A. (Los Angeles) style salsa or Cuban line salsa, is a variant of salsa that focuses on straight, linear movements. Unlike Cuban salsa, line salsa is danced in a single line, with the dancers moving linearly back and forth. This variation of salsa is very popular in the United States and Europe. Line salsa has an elegant and sophisticated style with fast movements and fancy turns.
Attendance is the client's interest. Failure to attend a class does not entitle the client to any compensation from La Tropical. Please read the general conditions, the course cannot be substituted or carried over to the next period.We reserve the right to change the tutor in case of illness or other emergency.
In our courses we teach Cuban salsa dancing solo or in pairs.
- Salsa Beginners – suitable for beginners, in pairs. If you are applying for a couple's dance course and do not have a dance partner, we will try to find a partner for you among the course participants. You don't need to know anything, we will teach you how to dance from the beginning. - Salsa Beginners Advanced - suitable for those who have already completed their first beginners course
You already know the basic steps, turns and some basic figures (dile que no, enchufla, enchufla doble, vacílala and setenta) - Salsa Intermediate – suitable for those who have already taken a course and want to improve their style
You already know the basic steps and basic figures (enchufla, enchufla doble, sombrero, vacílala, prima, sacala and setenta) - Salsa Advanced – suitable for those who already know how to dance but want to improve on the figures they have already learnt
You know the basic steps and figures perfectly and can learn complicated variations.

- IF YOU DO NOT MEET THE DANCE LEVEL REQUIREMENTS, WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO MOVE YOU TO A LOWER LEVEL
What to wear:
What clothes to wear?
- Comfortable and light clothing.
- Sneakers or comfortable dance shoes. For girls, we recommend comfortable, high-heeled dance shoes with ankle support and a grippy sole (heels are not required).
- Change of clothes and towel if you wish to shower at the academy.
